Despite stiff competition from ‘Singham Again’ and ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’, both films had an impressive start, exceeding expectations at the box office. ‘Singham Again’ raked in around Rs 121 crore in its opening weekend, while ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’ earned Rs 106 crore in the same span. These two highly anticipated films not only delivered on their promises but also brought in record-breaking numbers for the industry. Together, they generated the highest combined opening weekend gross ever, surpassing the Rs 190 crore total of the ‘Animal’ and ‘Sam Bahadur’ releases, making it a stellar weekend for both exhibitors and the film business overall.
The real test for ‘Singham Again’ came on Monday after the festive Diwali weekend. A slight dip was expected, and indeed, the film saw a 50% drop, which trade experts consider typical after such a high-grossing holiday weekend. This stable performance indicates strong word-of-mouth support for the movie. While Sunday’s earnings stood at Rs 35.75 crore, Monday brought in Rs 17.50 crore, taking the four-day total to Rs 139.25 crore, according to Sacnilk. ‘Singham Again’ seems to be holding its ground well, proving its appeal beyond the holiday buzz.
