Sugary Drinks Tax UK

Sugary Drinks Tax UK

The Uk plans to put a tax on sugary drinks.
This could come in force in April 2018.
There will be different tax bands for the levels of sugar included.
So cans of pop on sale normally for 70p will cost either 6p or 8p more.
This gives the drinks producers plenty of time to modify the ingredients of their products.
It is part of a plan to reduce obesity in children.

Its a good idea in principal but I fear that the government are using obesity as a means of collecting more taxes.
It should be down to choice.
If I want a sugary drink then I shouldn't have to pay an extra tax in it :naughty:

Many of these drinks have no sugar so I think they all will go that way.
What about the fruit juice drinks - they are full of acid that does just as much damage
And more to the point...................

Like the carrier bags before this.
The government sees how many billions of drinks are sold and want a cut.
Its all about grabbing your money.

Now we get taxed on cans of pop.
Come on, where's the choice?
David Bowie has died - what more can I say

You have to think what other stuff will be taxed.
Do we not already pay VAT on these sugary drinks to start with?
I will not be reading any newspapers today, its my day off!

It is sickening to think that our cans of pop will be taxed.
It should be my choice whether I want a sugary can of pop or not!

If I want pop with sugar I should be allowed to buy it at a normal price - not one that's taxed.
This is all wrong.
What was that you said again - I didn't quite hear you.

They will tax the air that you breathe soon if you let them.
